A remarkably smooth grain-to-glass wheat vodka made in our classic “slow-crafted” style – crisp, clean, and easy to drink.
Most people don't realize it, but it’s quite rare for a distillery to make its own vodka from scratch. It’s far more common for distilleries to go out and buy bulk neutral grain spirits from an industrial supplier. Why? It’s quicker, easier, and much cheaper.
That’s not how we roll here, though. The grain for our Wheat Vodka is grown just up the road from the distillery right here in Whatcom County. We mill it, mash it, and ferment it in traditional wooden washbacks, then distill it to perfection. The result is something altogether different than what you’ll find elsewhere, evocative of this unique and beautiful part of the world.

Chuckanut Bay Distillery's wheat vodka won a silver medal and “highly recommended” classification at the 2014 judging of vodkas from around the world at the prestigious Beverage Tasting Institute. Tasting notes were as follows: “Clear color. Rich, curious, savory aromas of soy rice cake, sautéed mushrooms, and chestnut brittle with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a tingling, appealing, medium-length whipped cream, white maple toffee, and cherry pit finish. This has an interesting combination of savory and sweet notes.”
